The Ethos Project exists to do three things:
Our Collaboration Model The Ethos Project has a mission: to work with local organizations to develop a workforce that has the skills and credentials nec-essary to meet the job demands of the future. We believe that to reach this goal with an individual, they must follow four steps. We call it Workforce Development 2.0.
Leadership Skills – Also known as soft skills, these are the traits every prospective employee needs, no matter what field they go into. This in-cludes, but is not limited to: Communication, Punctuality, Dressing for Success, Time Management, Professional Etiquette, Interview Skills, and more. Industry Certification – This is what makes someone a “skilled” worker. The business world is growing more and more reliant on certifications as a gauge of a person’s skills, especially in the technology industries. Certification makes a person exponentially more marketable and helps them stand out in a sea of resumes. On-the-Job Training – Also known as “OJT”, this can include internships, externships, and job-shadowing. This gives the prospective employee a chance to experience the field and get used to the work environment while gaining valuable experience. Job Placement – This, of course, is the final piece: landing a job. We work hard with organizations to create jobs, encourage entrepreneurship where appropriate, and help prospective employees find and prepare for interviews in their field. Our community faces numerous challenges, and some of them are quite large. The only way our community will be able to overcome them is through unity and innovation. Together, we can put our community to work. Want to Work With Us?
