Dod 8570.1As of December 19, 2010, all government employees in Information Assurance (IA) functions with privileged information system access need an approved certification for their function. In addition to those directly employed by the government, those working for contractors performing IA functions on a DoD system need an approved certification. GSALab Four is a US General Services Administration (GSA) approved vendor for IT training and certification. As a result, several options are available to members of the military and their families for funding their training. Being GSA approved also means Lab Four’s programs meet federal standards and are of the best quality. MyCAASpouses of members of the military can receive money for school through the Department of Defense’s Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program. The MyCAA program provides up to $4000 to military spouses for Associate’s degrees, certifications and licensure programs. VeteransVeterans looking to acquire skills and certifications to help them in their job search can use their GI Bill funds towards training at Lab Four. Veterans have many options for funding in addition to the GI Bill including Chapter 35 (Survivors & Dependents) and Chapter 1606 (Reserve) REAP (Reserve Educational Assistance Program). |
